I am writing about a Nov. 3 BDN article titled, "Child's play?" It involved a WWF action figure being recalled because it came with a plastic head. A professor in Atlanta found it offensive and had it taken off store shelves. Being a wrestling fan for 10 years and a collector, I find this act offensive.
This "professor" said it was a severed head of a woman and promoted violence against women. This professor was obviously not a wrestling fan and has no right to find it offensive without first finding out what this figure was all about.
Al Snow, the wrestler being recalled, does not carry a severed head of a woman into the ring with him.
He carries a mannequin head which does in fact have "Help Me!" written backward on it. The head in the package is a replica of this mannequin head.
